El Real Curly Macaroni with Crab and Mushrooms

Ingredients:

  • 250 g. EL REAL HEALTHY TWISTED MACARONI
  • 1⁄4 cup salted butter or margarine
  • 1⁄4 cup minced white onion
  • 1 cup crab meat
  • 250 g. fresh button mushrooms, halved or use 1 cup canned sliced button mushrooms
  • 250 g. fresh small asparagus bottoms, trimmed, sliced into 2 inch pieces
  • 1 tsp. fine salt
  • 1⁄2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 chicken cube to be dissolved in
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup all-purpose cream
  • 1-185 g. grated quick melt cheese

Procedure:

  1. Cook 250 g. EL REAL HEALTHY TWISTED MACARONI according to package directions. Drain under faucet water. Blanch in boiling water when ready to serve.

    Topping:

    a. In a 12-inch skillet, put butter and onions. Cook until onions are tender. Add crab, mushrooms, asparagus, chicken cube, salt, pepper and water.

    b. Let it boil over high heat and stir for 3 to 5 minutes until the asparagus is tender.
    c. Add cream and mix until it simmers. Turn off fire and toss in hot macaroni.

    d. Put in a deep serving platter. Top with cheese and 2 pieces blanched asparagus.
    Serves 6.

NOTE: IF using canned mushrooms and asparagus, use ½ cup water only. Let boil for 1 minute.
